George Aitken has taken over the role and will steer the club through the next 12 months.
One of the newer Rotary Clubs in Angus, which marked its first birthday at the start of the month, the club aims to be highly active within the local community and serve worthy causes.
It actively encourages youth development and helps to spread support at home and abroad. Recent undertakings have included a donation to Kirriemuir Scout Findley Crawford and Tannadice Explorer Scout Ilona Graham, who will be travelling to Korea in 2023 to attend the World Scout Jamboree and also support for the local Scouts’ trip to Jersey.
Members manned a fundraising ducking stool at the Kirrie Show at the weekend and its next event will be a duck race on Saturday, August 13 in Kirrie Den.
The event will feature a total of £300 in prize money – £150 for first place, £75 for second place, £50 for third and £25 for fourth.
Entry will cost £2 per duck and the proceeds will be donated to local youth projects.
