Arbroath woman has 50,000 reasons to celebrate after big bingo win

One lucky Arbroath resident has started her new year on a high after winning £50,000 at a local bingo outlet in the town.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, has been a member of Buzz Bingo since 2010 and is absolutely delighted to have won such a life-changing amount of money after well over a decade of playing at the High Street club, formerly Gala Bingo.

The jubilant bingo-goer is the 60th customer to claim the £50,000 Big Buzz Special jackpot since lockdown ended in May last year.

Just in the Big Buzz Special jackpot game alone, £3 million has been dished out in less than nine months.

The generous winner now plans plans to use some of the winnings to whisk her mum away for a luxury holiday.

Linsey Crooknorth, general manager at Buzz Bingo in Arbroath, said there was an enthusiastic response to the player landing the big prize.

He: “We couldn’t be happier for our lucky winner and their fantastic win.

"Everyone was cheering from their seats – it was such an exciting moment.”

Peter Brigden, the company’s chief retail officer, added: “The atmosphere in club when there’s a win is always incredible, and we’re delighted to see the 60th customer hit the £50,000 jackpot during the Big Buzz Special at Buzz Bingo Arbroath.

All Buzz Bingo clubs have implemented extensive health and safety measures including a maximum capacity, Perspex screens and floor markers to enable social distancing.
