Forfar residents urged to engage with consultation on 300-house development

Hermiston Securities and Scotia Homes plan to build a new development on land located adjacent to Westfield Loan in Forfar. The site will include 300 houses, public open space and associated infrastructures.

A public consultation for the proposed plans will take place virtually with the developers and the project team through the project website on Wednesday, January 19 between 3pm and 7pm. Members of the public are being encouraged to attend and to put forward their views and concerns as well as ask any questions they may have. The wider consultation period, however, will remain open until midnight on Friday, February 4.

Mr Doogan pointed out that it is important for Forfar’s residents to engage with the consultation process and have their say on what the development companies are proposing.

He said: “Forfar is an outstanding town so I’m not surprised the housing market remains strong there. I welcome development and new homes including social housing but this needs be in step with the wishes of local people in the town.

“New developments often come with some concerns from local people who will be impacted, so I am encouraging residents in Forfar to include their support, concerns and opinions in the Live Chat Session held with the project team.

“If residents would like their voice to be heard on the proposals, the project website can be found at: https://westfield.consultationonline.co.uk ”
