Consultation on new active travel route
The local authority has also asked consultants ARCADIS to look at draw up proposals to improve active travel from Brechin to Montrose; Friockheim to Arbroath; School Road, Tealing; and National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 1 between Elliot Links and East Haven.
ARCADIS has created a virtual consultation room where the proposed route options for each scheme can be viewed and feedback given via a dedicated survey.

Hide AdA council spokesperson said: “You can comment on as many or as few of the schemes as you like. Your views will be used to help select the preferred option for each scheme, with a feasibility report produced for each scheme later this Spring.”
There are four proposals for the Kirriemuir-Forfar route including use of former railway line for shared use, as well as a shared use path running alongside the A926.
Transport Scotland’s Cycling, Walking & Safer Routes (CWSR) fund and the Tayside and Central Scotland Transport Partnership (TACTRAN are funding these feasibility studies.
