Appeal after three-figure sum of cash stolen during robbery and assault in Arbroath

Police in Arbroath are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in the town on Friday (June 9).

The incident happened around 3.15pm on Friday, June 9, at a property in Dishlandtown Street. Two men assaulted the 23-year-old and stole a three-figure sum of cash. They then assaulted him and were last seen heading along Dishlandtown Street, Catherine Street, and Keptie Street.

The victim sustained injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

One of the suspects is described as around 6ft tall and of slim build. At the time he was wearing a black Crosshatch T-shirt, a black zipped top and bottoms, and grey trainers.

The other is also described as being around 6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a navy zipped jacked, brown trousers and black trainers with white soles and laces.

Detective Constable Lindsay Martin said: “The victim has been left injured by this incident and we are appealing for information to help trace those involved.

“At this time, the street was busy with people and traffic. If anyone has witnessed the incident or captured anything on dash-cam footage or CCTV, please contact police.”
