Police in Arbroath are appealing for information after a driver sustained serious injuries following a road crash in the town.

The incident happened at around 1am on Thursday (June 8) on East Mary Street at its junction with Hannah Street and involved one vehicle, a silver Nissan Micra.The The driver, a 69-year-old man, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.

Sergeant Gordon Dickson said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this crash. The road remains closed at this time for officers to carry out enquiries.”

“I would urge anyone who may have seen the car involved prior to the incident, or who has any dash-cam footage to come forward if you haven’t already spoken to an officer.
