Dundee and Angus College’s Learner Engagement Team is in line for recognition after being nominated for a national award.

Over the last eight years it has broken new ground in terms of building a supportive environment for students using community and learning development standards.

Each session, members work with more than 2000 young people, encouraging, supporting and bolstering them through and beyond formal education. They use a whole raft of carefully developed tools and campaigns to enhance the student experience, as well as working with a wide range of community partners to offer students more than just a classroom experience.

Learner Engagement and Community Partnerships Manager, Katie Baxter said: “There is some wonderful work going on around Scotland in terms of youth work and we are delighted to be shortlisted in what is a very competitive field.

"Giving our students opportunities to build the meta skills needed to thrive in learning, life and work is our key goal.”

The winner will be announced in Glasgow on Wednesday, June 1.
