Firms open new joint office at Montrose Port

The Briggs Marine Group is expanding with the opening of new office premises within the Montrose Port, bringing opportunities to the local area.

The offices will be shared with Briggs’ sister company ARB WIND and will provide strategic access to the North Sea’s expanding renewable energy market in which Briggs has been operating over the last decade.

With the proximity of the Forth and Tay cluster of Offshore Wind Farms (including Inch Cape, Neart na Gaoithe (NNG) and Seagreen), the companies are ideally placed to continue supporting existing customers and other developers and operators based in the North Sea.

Collieson Briggs Briggs managing director, said: “With Briggs’ strong track record in port and vessel m anagement and subsea and environmental services, we hope to add value to the port and help boost the local supply chain.

ARB WIND’s Managing Director, Arran Bell added: “In addition to Briggs comprehensive marine services offering, ARB WIND’s experience in Statutory Inspections, Maintenance Services and Construction Support has potential to bring new employment opportunities to the area.”

Tom Hutchison, port authority chief executive, welcomed the addition to the port.

He said: “ We’re delighted to welcome both Briggs Marine and ARB WIND. We have worked closely with Briggs for many years and know they will be a welcome addition to the local s upply c hain.”
